- Going to the beach. Without a doubt, my most favorite place to be.
- Open shoes. This isn't to say that I don't break the rules of fashion by wearing them in the winter.
- Longer days. I love it when I get off work and there is still plenty of daylight left.
- More things to do outdoors. Fishing...picnicking...ballgames...boating...cookouts!
- 4th of July fireworks! I love love love them!!!
- Watermelon and strawberries.
- Not wearing pantyhose.
- No school.
- Vacation...hopefully!
- The trees, flowers, grass, weeds, etc are all in bloom.

Life's A Beach!
I had a very exciting weekend. On Saturday we had a family reunion for Ricky's family. It was held in Durham. It was a lot of fun and a lot of great food. It was nice to see people we don't get to see so much throughout the year. His family are really neat people and I always enjoy being with them.
Afterwards we drove to the beach to meet up with my folks. We got there Saturday night about 11:00 p.m. Sunday we just spent time on the beach and "shooting the breeze", and of course...EATING!. The weather was just perfect. Today Ricky and I spent a few more hours on the beach before heading back home. Jacob is always the center of attention. Here are some pics from the weekend....

ConGraduation...
Tonight Parker graduated from Dillon Christian School. In a way it seemed like a long time coming, but in another way it seemed like it came way too quick. We are so proud of him. Now he will begin the next chapter in his life. I know he will continue to make us proud.

Mackenzie
Well...9 years ago this week I met my future husband. I met him at WAL-MART! Cool story! If you haven't heard it, I'll tell ya sometime. One of the perks to meeting Ricky was finding a super, life-long friend, Mackenzie. She was his secretary at the time. She and I hit it off right away. It seems as though I have known her forever... and I love her dearly. She knows how silly I can be...and she is too! She is always willing to listen when I need to vent. I can always count on her emails each week and I look forward to them. She married her high school sweetheart and moved away from Lumberton. Now she has a beautiful little girl named Emma. She is a wonderful person inside and out. Miss you Mackenzie!!
April & May
I haven't posted a picture of mine and Ricky's babies....so here they are:
We have had them since they were a few days old. They are 3 years old now. If you are wondering about the names we chose, they represent our birth months. They, to some extent, earn their keep because they make the most beautiful eggs:
Ricky calls them "BUTT BERRIES"...um um...good!

Baccalaureate
Today was the Baccalaureate Ceremony for the 2011 graduates of DCS. Another stop on the road to the actual graduation on Thursday...
Parker and Coach Aaron (his basketball coach).
In case you are wondering, Parker has a swollen eye. We aren't sure what he did but it looks like maybe he scratched his cornea. I hope not but time will tell! Hopefully it will be better before graduation day.
Parker is the 2nd handsome guy with the pink tie on.

Ricky & The Kayak
Today was Ricky's 50th birthday. We spent the day mostly eating at one place or another...We went to Myrtle Beach...and bought Ricky a KAYAK for his birthday!!! We had another great day and we had some really good laughs....he hopes for 74 more great years. My handsome husband is now a KAYAKER!! This should make for some very interesting stories over the next 74 years...lol

And The MVP Award Goes To...
Tonight was the Athletic Awards at Parker's school...DCS.
First we ate...then the awards for each sport were given out. Parker received a certificate for playing Varsity Football and Varsity Basketball. He also received Defensive MVP for the Varsity Basketball team. Um....that made Mamas' heart proud! I'm so proud of my baby!!
The 2nd picture is Parker with his best friends Kin & Neil, who also recived awards tonight. These two friends played a huge role in Parker wanting to transfer to DCS.
Speaking of DCS...Parker only has 6 more days of high school left! Hard to believe!! He graduates next Thursday May 26th. His senior year has flown by so fast...at least it has for me. My baby is almost GROWN!
This reminds me of something I read when he was a baby:
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls
But everyday I'm growing
And soon I'll be so tall
That all those little handprints
Will be so hard to recall
So here's a little handprint
Just so you can say
This is how my fingers looked
When you placed them here today!

Guilty!!
Tonight I watched my very 1st full episode of American Idol. I have seen bits and pieces of the show in seasons past, but mostly kept of with it through conversations of family and co-workers.
Today was a "tough" days in many regards. I decided it would be nice to spend the evening with my very best friend, Lisa. She came over after a tough day herself (she is also dealing with a lot of things in her own life). So, we decided to watch American Idol! It was actually pretty good! Somehow, it managed to take my mind way from some of the garb that had me so crazy today. Thanks Lisa, for being there for me...love you girl!!
